Reflexology & Holistic Wellness session for BTEC Health & Social Care students.
We were delighted to welcome Louise Brown from Tranquil Space into our Professional Skills session on Wednesday. With a career in healthcare, she has now moved into holistic therapies supporting health and wellness. We were talked through the history of Reflexology and had a demonstration foot massage. We learnt about the different chakras in the body and how crystals can help focus energy and bring about mental and physical well-being. We looked at how cupping therapy can help improve many different disorders and we finished the afternoon with a Mindfulness session designed to assist with anxiety, which we can use before our external exams in January. It was a fabulous session and wonderful for the students to experience therapies which can be used to support all sorts of health conditions from palliative care to dementia care. Another great practical session for our BTEC Health & Social Care students.
