Sixth Form Skills Session
There is a mandatory skills session with your Sixth Form form tutor scheduled for the following time next week:
Week 3 – P3 on Thursday 1st April from 2.05pm – 3.05pm
This session will be replacing your timetabled lesson if you have one at that time.
You must attend this session even if you have a non-contact or no scheduled lesson as registers will be taken.
Year 12 – Unifrog
Students should be utilising this excellent VLE by adding to their competencies, researching careers/university courses/apprenticeships and looking at wider reading suggestions. Winning Artists
L2 Certificate in Team Leading
During half-term, 25 students from year 10 and 11 completed the Level 2 Certificate in Principles in Effective Team Leadership. It was wonderful to see students investing in their personal development and future potential in this way. Sam P from Year 10 said about the course “the leadership course was a very useful and helpful course. I feel like it helped grow my understanding of the workplace; I now feel much more knowledgeable and confident about it. The people who ran it were incredibly nice and helpful. It was also nice to have some communication with others as the lockdown has left some of us lonely, so this course also offered a social element with them rewarding us with quizzes if the work was completed. I’m very thankful for the course being set up as I feel I gained invaluable information and enjoyed it so much.”

Year 9 Most Able Team
On Tuesday after school it was great that 17 year 9 students joined an online tutorial and chat discussion on the right to protest in the UK. Our year 9 students had watched a Brilliant Club Master Class lesson on Does Protesting Make you Loyal? Thank you to those students who took part by watching the masterclass and then joined the online lesson in their own time. It was great to hear so many different opinions.
PE Update
It has been great for students to return to PE lessons taking part in rugby, netball, football, badminton and fitness. Please ensure all students have full PE Kit. They will all require Reversible Rugby Top (This is to be worn for all outdoor lessons), Black Polo shirt, Black Shorts, Black Football Socks, Shin Pads, Gum Shield, Football Boots, Indoor Trainers. Activities are on Insight. If students are injured or unwell they should bring a note and their PE kit as the will still have a role to play in the lesson and should have a coat if the weather in inclement.
Year 9 Options – On the Core PE Team is a presentation on the option subject we offer for PE, Entitled BTEC Tech Sport Activity & Fitness. There is also further information and materials about the course.
It is important you are trying to get 60 minutes of physical activity and eating healthily each day. Why not have a go at making your own fitness or healthy cooking video and send it in on Teams? For Ideas and inspiration have a look at files on the Core PE Team.
BTEC Sport** We have purchased on line learning resources for BTEC Students in Yr10, 11, 12, 13. Please see Teams for Log In details and how to access the resources **
Year 10 – students are working towards coursework on Sports Injuries.
Year 11- All Component 3 coursework needs completing on Teams. Students are now beginning to practice their practical leadership and so need PE kit for lessons.
Year 12- Students are now working on Unit 3 developing understanding of the sports industry. Students should now be using homework and independent study time to work on their Coursework.
Year 13- Students have received an individual mark breakdown via email. It is important that they use this to access lessons and resources they require. With uncertainty around summer exams it is vital students are fully prepared for the units they are taking to give them the best chance of their highest grade.

ICT & Computing Topics of the Week
For computing we want you to look at storage devices this week primary & secondary. Our old friends Craig and Dave have some fantastic videos and more resources are on teams.
For ICT we are looking at the differing planning tools so that you can use them in your controlled as well as look at them in relation to the assessments after Easter. All of the links are on our team under the Controlled Assessment Channel – this link will be only available to students.

Geography News
Y11 revision session on Tuesday will be focussing on the Nigeria case study from the Changing Economic World topic. This session will be in Miss Robinson’s room between 3:15-4pm.
Y13 revision session will be on Thursday next week in Mr Harris’ room after-school. Look out for a message from Mr Harris on Teams regarding the topic.
